Why Choose Iris Wellness Clinic

Iris Wellness Clinic is a boutique acupuncture and herbal medicine practice located in Fairfax, VA, specializing in acupuncture, microneedling, and herbal medicine for a variety of physical, mental, and cosmetic concerns. Every treatment is performed by Dr. Mio Hamasaki, DOM, Dipl OM, LAc—board certified and licensed in Virginia and District of Columbia—who holds a Doctorate from Virginia University of Integrative Medicine and a B.A. from UC Berkeley. The clinic offers a calm, private setting focused on individualized care for those seeking treatments in Fairfax, VA.

One Patient Per Hour, Fully Personalized Care
We follow a one-patient-per-hour model, meaning each appointment is private and uninterrupted. Unlike shared treatment spaces common in other clinics, your session includes both consultation and treatment in a quiet, private room. This allows for fully customized care using one or more therapies, including acupuncture with e-stim, cupping, or microneedling.

Premium Quality Treatments and Equipment
We use only high-quality supplies—sterile, single-use acupuncture needles and e-stim machine which are made in Japan, and the AcuLift MicroPen for microneedling. Herbal medicine is sourced from trusted vendors, and in-person appointments include a consultation for herbal recommendations as needed. Our commitment to quality and personalization ensures a tranquil and effective healing experience.

Why Choose Iris Wellness Clinic for Personalized, High-Quality Acupuncture and Holistic Wellness Care?

Acupuncture and Microneedling can help!

Acupuncture is a holistic treatment widely used to address physical and psycho-emotional conditions. It can help alleviate pain from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, digestive disorders, headaches, migraines, and TMJ. It also supports mental health, treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia, and autoimmune conditions. Additionally, acupuncture can improve skin health by targeting the internal imbalances behind acne and related issues.

Microneedling targets various skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, increases collagen and elastin production, addresses acne, scars, stretch marks, puffiness under the eyes, wrinkles around the mouth, hyperpigmentation, and hair loss.

Our clinic offers two categories of microneedling treatments, (i) face and neck and (ii) hair loss, using serums specialized formulated for the specific goals of the patient.

If your specific concern is not listed above, or you’re not sure which treatment might be best for you, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at hello@iriswellnessclinic.com. We will be happy to assess your condition and determine if acupuncture or microneedling may be beneficial for you.

Your initial appointment begins with a detailed intake, including questions about your health concerns and medical history. The practitioner will then conduct an examination and create a personalized treatment plan. Treatment follows with the patient comfortably lying on the treatment table.

For acupuncture, thin, sterile, single-use needles are gently inserted at specific points. After placement, the practitioner will leave the room, allowing you to relax.

For microneedling, a numbing cream is first applied. Then, a sterile, single-use cartridge is attached to the AcuLift microneedling pen, which is gently moved across the skin. Microneedling sessions also include body acupuncture points to support overall health.

Most patients find treatments deeply relaxing—many even fall asleep. Afterward, needles are removed, questions are answered, and you'll receive a personalized care plan, including an herbal medicine prescription, if appropriate.
